Bylaws—(Stefanie) 39 ballots have been returned as of this date.  In addition 3 ballots have been returned signed but NOT voted.  The last date of postmark that will be accepted is Jan 3, 2001.

Secretary’s Report (Stefanie)- The minutes were accepted as submitted. (Motion by Janet/seconded by Charlotte).

Treasurer’s Report (Tom) Bank Balance is $11,815.94; savings $10,154.67 and Checking is $ 1661.27. This is after the member breakfast expenses have been paid.  In addition, with the ballots for the bylaws was sent the annual dues notice.  To date 40 of 88 members have paid. (Charlotte/Bunny)

Meeting Notice (Valerie)- Valerie sent out the meeting notice at the time we had requested.

SEE (Charlotte) – The answers to the exam were posted on the Internet about 3 weeks after the exam!

Speakers (Art) -- not present –April’s education will be on the required minimum distributions.

Membership (Janet)-Janet’s new member application was distributed and she has requested that all the Board members maintain a supply of them to hand out when the occasion arises!

When a new member joins they will be issued a voucher for a free meeting.  This will begin on January 1, 2001.  This will be only for the initial joining!  Every new member will receive a welcome/thank you letter.

Legislative  (Lester)- Next meeting will be December 18 about the Law committee’s recommendations.  Actions will be taken at this time.  The current problem is the fact that certain definitions in the legislation have not been defined.

Hospitality (Patricia)-Pat has looked at the NAEA catalogue and found some prizes for giving away at drawings.  We could have a drawing every meeting.  We could also have workshops that are hands on to draw more attendance.  Discussion of this issue was tabled.  In April Tom will call or otherwise contact members who are not attending meetings regularly and ask them why they are not attending and what they would like us to do.

Good & Welfare- (Maggie)-not present

Member Breakfast (Jane)- The member breakfast was great!  Chris Byrd was wonderful as usual.  He has penciled us in his calendar for December 7, 2001 for next years breakfast and has agreed to come for the same price.  We just need to contact him and verify the date.  Bunny will contact him. (Charlotte/Valerie)  Our only request is that he works on his ability to be contacted.  Communicating with him this year was very frustrating!

Website (Stefanie)- As the membership roster is updated for the website, Stefanie will email the updated file to Valerie, Janet and Tom, since this will be the most updated information.

Old Business- SELL THE QUICKFINDERS TO ANYONE YOU CAN! This helps to raise money for our Chapter as well as our State organization.  Also available it the Stevens Howard book with the government obligations percentages for mutual funds.

New Business-(Charlotte,Janet,Chuck)- This group is working on getting a class t the community college level that will prepare students to take both the ACAT exam and the SEE exam.  They are working with Paul Vuke for the University of Phoenix about possibly getting the classes there too!  WE as EA’s would have to teach the classes, but it would sure give us much more exposure to the students just finishing college!

Meeting adjourned at 5:50 PM. (Charlotte/Stefanie)
